SUSPENDING DISBELIEF: WILLIAM PARKER
The ground shifts, he moves tectonic plates with his bass notes under their feet, pushing them to respond. An empty parking lot becomes the stage for a strange performance. William Parker is a literal jazz giant, as he plays a bass quartet with himself, seven dancers dance before him, as his music pulls movement from them, their dance pulls his responding image to the surface.
