Synopsis
Poetic portrait of the Acadian artist Monique Léger. A transmission of Authentic Movement as a driving force for transcending death.
Multidisciplinary artist, Béatriz Mediavilla was born in Rouyn-Noranda in 1972, and continues to reside in her hometown. Holder of a Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in film studies, she teaches movie studies at the Abitibi-Témiscamingue College. In parallel to her teaching, she directed the collective work Ce qu’il en reste : dialogue artistique sur la mort (2009), a multisupport collection which proposes a reflection on death, , and she published Des Espagnols à Palmarolle in Nouvelles Explorations (2010) and in Contes, légendes et récits de l’Abitibi-Témiscamingue (2011). Danse avec elles is her first documentary feature. 3 Movements of outtakes is a short experimental Dance film. She’s actually working on a new film with the well-kown french choreographer Thierry Thieû Niang.
