Years of Silence
Synopsis
Two women, once close, now drift through life as shadows of themselves. They might be sisters, friends or they might represent two halves of one soul separated by inner conflict. Each has endured long periods of silence, an absence of communication, support and shared experiences. The years have made the gap between them seem insurmountable. One of them falls literally and emotionally. She collapses under the weight of her loneliness. Tears are wasted on nights spent in isolation, moments that could have been shared. The other, sensing this fall but not knowing how to intervene, is paralyzed by her own fear of rejection or vulnerability. The interplay of two dancers, whether representing different people or aspects of the same person creates a strong visual metaphor.
Agnieszka graduated Dance and Body Studies at Poznań University of Social Sciences Founded by Professor Michał Iwaszkiewicz. She trained with: Johannes Wieland, Alleyne Dance, Hannes Langolf, Sofia Nappi, Atilla Ronai. Associated with the polish h.art dance company until now. Together with h.art company she co-creates the performances “Incredible close” and “de light” and together with Erion Kruja they realized a project: “The Symphony of The Whispeing Walls”.
She created solo work for polish dancer: „who cares” which was selected in pre-selection on International Solo Dance Contest in Poland.
Agnieszka creates dance films: „Years of Silence” was selected on TOP3 on International Kliff Kick Off International Festival (2nd place in the Dance category and the Audience Award) and „YOS” was selected in Cindeanza Film Festival in Theater in Modena (Italy).
Agnieszka is currently focused on creating dance films and developing in this field in collaboration with Jan Gierach. Jan is warsaw based Steadicam operator with extensive experience shooting music videos and TV spots. His background also includes working as a director of photography and photographer – jangierach.pl.
