An interpretation of Charles Bukowski’s poem Bluebird recited by Harry Dean Stanton, this dance film uncovers the hidden softness within us all, capturing the struggle to embrace vulnerability and the tender act of learning to love oneself.

Shako, born Shibabrata Chakraborty in India, is a filmmaker based in Toronto, Canada. His fascination with dance films began when he started studying contemporary dance, a path that opened up a new way of seeing movement and emotion. Around the same time, he discovered the work of Maya Deren, whose films inspired him to pick up a 16mm camera and create this project. Shako is a Georgian name he adopted as his artistic identity, a reflection of the creative world he’s building for himself. Through his films, he explores human life from his own distinct perspective, blending movement, atmosphere, and introspection.
