Stone Skin

A woman learns how to become stone and journeys through the memory of the earth. As she moves through time, history, and other buried things, she is drawn towards a final, irreversible choice.

Rachel Gray is a Canadian filmmaker, director, and interdisciplinary artist based in Ottawa. Her work blends live-action, animation, and dance to create visually driven films that explore transformation, memory, and the body’s relationship to the natural world. She is a founding member of Ghost Rooster Collective, a disability-led arts collective, and has directed multiple short films including Dreamscapes and Stone Skin. Her work has been presented in festivals, galleries, and performance contexts across Canada and internationally.
