MY OWN COACHELLA
Synopsis
My Own Coachella is an inner place : a private festival, free from ego, where music becomes a way of fully existing. Here, the gaze of others no longer exists, nor the need to be seen. Only rhythm, breath, and body dancing to listen to itself remain
Director Biography – Giulia Federico
Giulia Federico is a professional dancer and performer whose artistic practice is rooted in contemporary dance and live performance. Her career has developed across international contexts, spanning theatre, live entertainment, audiovisual productions and visual arts. Throughout her career, she has performed in major productions including Chiroptera by Damien Jalet at the Palais Garnier – Opéra National de Paris, Bvlgari Aeterna choreographed by Sadeck Berrabah, the Sanremo Music Festival, Diodato’s music video with Irma Di Paola, and the UNESCO Opening Ceremony in Saudi Arabia. She has also collaborated on international productions with Dirty Monitor, including a project for the Osaka Expo, and with Luca Tommasini on productions within the entertainment industry. Her experience as a dancer has developed a strong sensitivity to the body, rhythm, spatial composition and the relationship between movement and image. It is from this perspective that she approaches audiovisual directing for the first time. With this project, Giulia Federico begins a new authorial journey behind the camera, bringing her experience as a performer into the language of film and video. The body, movement and visual composition become tools for storytelling, creating a dialogue between dance, cinema and visual art. This first work marks the beginning of a personal audiovisual research in which movement is not merely something to be filmed, but becomes a narrative device in itself.
